I never had much exposure to VC, but when I saw the Harmony Chronograph in the shop window, I could not resist to put it on my wrist.
Holding it in my hands and wearing on my wrist, I was quite simply mesmerized. It has a very strong presence. While it is elegant, it looks so exclusive that is not a modest watch.
a very, very attractive offer by Vacheron Constantin in the price range of a PF 5170.
IMO, the cushion shaped case adds the attraction, and the dial with the red pulsometer indications is highly attractive.
The power reserve on the dial does not disturb me. However the power reserved could have been realized on the movement side, which would have been an even more elegant solution from my point of view.
Looking forward to your comments

Great Photoreport of yours. I fact, I like the Harmony dual time as well. Of course less exclusive, but also smaller and less "loud" than the Chronograph so to speak.
Do you have any shots of the Harmony dual time movement? What movement are they using on the Dualtime?
Stefan
...the Chrono. The movement is nice, but can of course not compare to the chronograph.
Thanks for the nice review. I start to really appreciate VC - it was simply ignorance on my behalf in he past - and shall to follow the VC forum more regularly!

You are right in comparing this piece with the 5170. If my memory serves me right, PP reduced its prices across the board around April/May and VC hastily adjusted the price of the Harmony line downwards. Luckily, I got mine at around that time. PP subsequently pulled the rug, so to speak, by revising prices upward in July, catching its competitors pants down, unsure of how to react...
Yes, this is a loud piece, and a scratch magnet too, which explains why I am not wearing it more frequently.

wonderful piece. As you say, probably not a watch for every day. But on special occasions, hard to beat!
Enjoy it in good health!

I saw it for the first time couple weeks ago, and I think it'll be my first VC piece!
They have a winner with this line IMO.
