I had the same strategy for my wife but unfortunately could not get an allocation.

My AD told me that more men ordered these pieces for their wives than wives ordering for themselves.  Men are so selfless (or have ulterior motives??)  May I ask if you requested our AD for this piece or did your AD called you up and offered it to you.

I have a very good AD. I bought watches from him around 5 years in London. Almost forgot 175 anniversary ceremony. One day he wrote email to me and ask do I interested in any piece watch of 175. I reply I prefer 7175R. Then 5575. About one week later, he offered me 7175R. I know I shouldn’t ask 5575G because more coustomers want
the 175 watches. I am happy. Don’t ask too much. Then you’ll get more nice watches in the future.

based on reliable feedback I got, 7175 is actually harder to get than 5575 because of the lower production and the large amount of men wanting that 7175 for their wives / girlfriends (so that the wives / girlfriends are happy and the men can continue to buy other pieces).

Furthermore, collectors thinking fewer lady buyers on a relative basis for 7175 vs 5575 but in actual fact because of the two reasons above, they would have a better chance to get allocations for 5575 !!  LOL
