Patek are not the only brand at fault, but as you've shown this watch its the one i will concentrate on.
if i had a perpetual calendar watch i would like to be able to read it easily just like the UN perp i had until a couple of years ago.
i see no point in having the 'dials' printed on the inside of the glass in you cant see them clearly due to reflection or skeletonisation.
it might be modern and in vogue, but a watch should be made so that the complications can be easily understood.

I really wonder what the attraction to this model is..... Sure, YMMV, so no intention to argue . This particular one was w aiting to be professionally photographed and delivered to the new owner... My apologies for poor iPhone pics....

I had a 5104 in my hands a short time ago.
I do not understand the watch at all. In my eyes it's not very readable and not very beautiful. I would not buy it but perhaps some people love it.
Porsche Panamera is not my cup of tea while I love Porsche Carrera. I am sure that Panamera is a well built car and when I tested it, it was a great car to drive. The fact that I do not like this model, does not drop the value of Porsche.
The Nautilus look nice like Nautilus often does.

Even if I could afford one,it wouldn't be anywhere near the top of my list.
The dial, from your photos, looks very difficult to read & the case is just to over decorated for my simple tastes .

The 5104 is special
Quite weird, don't know if I hate it or love it. A very different Patek. The work on the caliber and on the case is admirable. The aestethic, I don't know... But it must really be something. I don't hate it actually, even if way too big for my taste.
