Patek Philippe

Hello all - I notice on the PP website they offer a watch case and bracelet refurbishment service at a cost of CHF340 - for my particular model - has anyone ever used this service and can you vouch for it ? - I've heard horror stories of some watch houses - but I hope PP will deliver the normal high standard of craftmanship and service - also - does anyone have a timescale for this service - ie) does it take six months to get the watch back etc ?????

Is fundamentally bad. I have seen some pretty bad jobs especially from H Stern in the US. However in the last 4-5 years most of the polished bracelets and cases I have seen were actually pretty well done. I recently had a 5980 with a bracelet polish and it was indistinguishable from new. Really!

I guess your mileage would vary, but of course the extent of existing damage is a major parameter here.

Thanks for that Morgan - I am relaxed about this one,as it is a what you call a 'milenese' style strap and there are some minor scratches where in the past,the snap back has been removed etc - I must admit I would never normally endorse any form of restoration on watches,but in this case,with the band and caseback,I think it would not be particularly intrusive - Morgan,could you give any idea how long it took to get it done,from been sent off ?

In my experience, if you drop it off at a Patek salon or one of the big dealers who often ship to Patek, you can get it back in less than a month. Thats my experience anyway.

It does however depend very much on how long the dealer procrastinates before shipping it....
