Hi, I just got a 5970 but am waiting for manual to be shipped separately. Could someone please tell me how I can just set the moon phase on the watch? The date, month, and day are all correct. I think it is the pusher at 6 but I don't want to go about pushing stuff randomly if there is a sequence to follow. I am already aware that the watch time should be at 6am or so and no later than 9pm in order to conduct these operations. thanks in advance. and here is a crude wristshot for you guys!

You need to click the button at 6 o'clock until the moon is growing at 5% to coincide with Dec 7 2010. You will have to eyeball this by clicking until the moon just starts to appear. The last full moon was November 21 and the next one is Dec 21. It is easier to adjust the moonphase when the moon is full rather than estimate the 5% that it is now. Whne the moon is full, you should see the entire moon in the middle of the aperture.

Also, your leap year indicator is not correctly set. It should be on the "2" marking. You have to set the month forward by clicking the button until you get to the next December (24 clicks in your case) where the leap year indicator is pointing at "2."

Congratulations!  I wonder what kind of fool would have sold that beauty to you! 

Moonphase correction is the pusher between 6:00 and 7:00.  The leap year indicator is correctly pointing to 2, it is the chrono minute counter that is pointing straight up.  It is also recommended to wind the watch at the same time every day, preferably in the morning, but I'm not sure why.

Sorry about my comments on the leap year indicator, but when I looked at the pic, it seemed like there was nothing there at the number 2. These nice watches are wasted on middle aged guys like me! I encourage the young collectors to enjoy them while their eyesight is still good!

set at 6:00 am.  Make it a habit to set the time correctly before you make ANY quick change settings.

Watch cannot be adjusted during these times as everything is engaged and moving.

I am not fortunate to have this piece..but its beauty is beyond words...nice piece...

You should not adjust the moonphase between 09.00-11.00 hrs as this is the natural time that the movement adjust the moonphase.

And like has already been mentioned, visit the Patek website for the moonphase settings.

And I can't see it being any different, for your gorgeous 5970P
