Patek is about discretion....that is not exactly Ferrari. No, for me Patek is more Aston than Ferrari.
Audemars ...yes, i'd go with the Lambo.
Rolex.... uhm, no i'd say that was the Porsche. It is a super-car but at the same time usable and very reliable, and style of it hasnt changed really in decades. I'd guess Tudor is the Boxter!
Panerai...uhm toughie. I'd say that was more like a Suped-up Range Rover. Bit flashy. Bit over the top.
BMW ... thats more Lange for me. It desperately wants to be seen as top division, but just isnt there yet despite being well made and reliable.
So what is the Ferrari of the watch world? Probably a Harry W.... overtly flash, but indisputably brilliant.

I dont think the watch/car analogy holds that well. I do have a Rolex President though where the manual has a picture of a Rolls Royce on it. I think watches, like cars express a bit of the personality of the buyer but exist in their own right. Its fun to play that game but i think the connotations are soo different. I NEVER feel like im sending teh worng message wearing a particular watch. The car is another matter completely....its supposed to be just for me but its WAY more flamboyant. Most people dont know a PP or an AP but they ALL know their cars.
