About 6 months ago I posted my thoughts about the 5960.  I've wanted one since it came out.  At first it was just unattainable.  AD didn't have them and gray prices were too ridiculous. The downturn over the past 2 years finally gave me my chance.  I came very close to pulling the trigger on a gray 5960P and then the rose gold version came out.  So I had to do my due diligence and check it out.  When I saw one in person, it was stunning.  So warm, so charming.  I couldn't decide.  So I decided to wait.  When unsure, I have always achieved clarity with time.  Over the past 6 months, my affinity for rose slowly waned.  The 5960 I fell in love with was platinum--cool and sophisticated.  It was the anthracite dial that originally caught my eye that I kept coming back to.
So finally, I pulled the trigger.  I chose to replace the original strap with matte black.  Just love it!!

A lovely watch to look at and also put on your wrist.  This is the most versatile PP watch that I have ever come across and I think it has very good investment potential as well.  Platinum with the anthracite dial is just so cool and elegant and is easier to go casual.  Back a few months ago, I decided on the RG version, it gives you another feel, very warm but not so good with jeans and T shirt.  So far, I still cannot come to grasp with the premium you have to pay for platinum.

It is funny how a watch can be much better in real than in picture.

The 5960 reveals all its beauty in the real world.

This dial makes me even forget that an annual calendar  is present... Which is not my favourite complication, by far, but the dial is so irresistibly appealing that I could live with it!

And to wear it is another great experience.

The proportions are great, well, at least for a normally sized wrist, and the feeling, the presence is awesome.

The Pt is a hundred times better than the RG for this model. Also, had you bought it two years ago, you would have to pay 50% more...

Wear it in the best of health.

I was simply stating my personal preference or, if you like, prejudice...

The 5960 - be it P or R - is a marvelous piece. It is perfect in many ways, size, weight, comfort, movement, layout....

The two metals are very different. However, I would doubtlessly shoot for the PT version in the 5960, just as I would go for the SS in the 5167.

Great shots Claudesti!! A beautiful specimen the 5960 is --either in P or RG. Love the anthracite dial as well. Congrats Nat!! Enjoy it. I am going to get one myself ( 5960P) hopefully really soon--like tomorrow!!!

Definitely is appealing, but I fell for the original and always thought of this piece in that way.
