I guess my big question is: Why would anyone take the risk of buying a new Patek on any of these internet Markets? I can see preowned but who are you buying from? I just know it's much safer buying from an Authorized Dealer. You have total safety. I just can't figure out why anyone would want to take the risk spending thousands with a total stranger via bank wire transaction.
Scammer on CM, watch out
Some scammer named PPclinic used my 3970G Black Dial picture and post his FS ad on CM. He also photoshop another member's 5970J and made it into 5970P and posted it FS.
I know he also had few other watches FS such as 5070P, 5960P, AP rubberclad RG, 5980 etc...
Pls be very careful if you are buying any of his watches. I believe he is a scammer and do not have any watch for sale
For the record, I still own this 3970G Black Dial and I still have the exact same picture he used on his FS ad.

Sold DYLANAIDAN one of my Patek´s. He is in Malaysia. Sent me a bank check which turned out to be a forgery. Fortunately, I still have the watch.
That is I always buy from AD though I may pay a little more
Too many scammers and too many stolen or forged watches nowadays, I am an old fashioned guy, I only have confidence in a reputable AD.

However we do have many trusted and genuine sellers on this forum.
All it requires from the buyer, is too carry out some research.
Recently, thanks to the moderators I was warned about a scammer and thus avoided parting with several thousands GBP's
As always, buy the seller not the watch
If a deal is to good to be true, it is. With a simple yahoo search anyone can figure out a reasonable range for the correct pricing of almost anything. So if an item is priced way below market its most likely a scam. This watch community is rather small and with a little research there is no reason anyone should ever be scammed. If the seller is real the chances are they will be very transparent with the buyer and jump through hoops the make both parties feel safe in the transaction.
