Patek Philippe

If you are offered to have a pure Patek MR...which one would you take?  3939HP or 5078P? And what are the reasons?

Personally I would take the 5078Pas the size is more contemporary.  What is your favourite?

Wouldnt patek 3979 & 5078 be a better comparison ? 

I had a very good opportunity to try both (3939 G and 5078 P) at a friend's place.

5078 has a more contemporary size and looks very elegant. The sound is cristal clear. And I like the enamel dial a lot. For me, 5078 is all what understatement means.

3939 is smaller, but still wearable. The sound (I tried the WG version) is even better than the 5078P. I think that the platinum case of the 5078 affects the quality of sound. From an artile by Mr. Stern (if I remember correctly) in the Patek Magazine, Mr. Stern believes that the pink gold case makes the best sound and the platinum the worst.

You will, however, go wrong with neither. They are the best examples of the traditional manufacture Patek Philippe.

Just as stated before, the sound of the wg case is very beautiful. Just depends on your pockets which model you go for, but I prefer the 3939
