Patek Philippe

I have had a privilege to receive a Patek Philippe wristwatch as a gift. Generally, I am no expert regarding quality watches, but I do understand the heritage and position witch PP holds in the watch manufacturer scene. I am planning to take this watch in my daily use.

However, a number of questions remains to be unsolved. I attach hereby a picture of my PP as an attachment.

• What is the exact model of my watch?
• When was it manufactured (it may be from the 80's)?
• Even thou the watch is not in sale, I would like to know what might be the approximate fair value of it (it is in 9/10 condition)

Some additional research concluded, that the first owner has received it as a new item on 1982-1983. The questions open in the initial message still remains to be unsolved, so please help me out.

why fake? please give arguments.

at the back side is window which reveals the self-winding mechanism and there is also three-number series number.

the real ones don't have a white dial.

some of those have white dial, at least those with golden case.

also, mine has geneve text under second-counter and no swiss text under number six.

this one does have day counter 1 to 31, instead of 10-day counter.

so, is it fake, or is it possbile that it is some variant model of 5100. I will take this to the local importer on monday, so place your bets and let me know, are you still sure it's a fake.

It's very fake, in every respect - looks, complications and movement.  Real ones are not self-winding, for one thing.

But a really bad fake at that.

CZAPEK, we, patek enthusiasts, cannot be 100% sure it is a fake, but are all in agreement it's a 99.99% probability of it being a dud. I know it's difficultfor you to believe us, most probably because you paid a sum for it, or had to make certain sacrifices for it as well. However, you DID ask for our opinions, and we are all in agreement.

Good luck bringing it to your local AD, and if possible, ask him to get an extract from the archives... Place a bet with you? i'm tempted.. but, nah, i think it'll just be mean to take advantage of your ignorance.

first of all thanks for your contribution. Of course I am disappointed to notice that the watch seems to be obvious fake.

Easy come, easy go - as mentioned before, I received it as a gift.
