I just love the Aquanaut! Size is a personal matter and size and as we know has changed with the times with watch faces becoming larger in the recent era. (There is no apparent reason for this 'fad' unless eyesight has deteriorated in that time).
But apart from size – I never understood the 5167. The design just looks as if it was created with 38mm in mind. The date snugly fits at the edge of the dial - while with the 5167, the effect is that the face appears as if it is a 38mm ‘stretched’ a little and half sized tick marks are inserted between the outside the date box and the edge of the dial – so pretty ugly finish seems to me!
But I am in a minority here - the 5165 is readily avaliable and the 5167 harder to find. But go for it and get a good deal!

I don't think that you are 'in the minority'. PP have demonstrated with other models, too, that 'bigger is not better'. For example, the 5196 Calatrava which is so stretched and flattened out that the seconds dial is almost half way up the face.
In the not so distant past, PP movements fitted their cases but, in the rush to fashion, cases became bigger irrespective of the movements. The 5167 is the case in point. The natural balance, comfort and design of the 5165 has been compromised in fitting the 315 calibre into a larger case.
The dial of the 5167 has lost the symmetry of the 5165 and for that matter, its predecessor the 5065.
I tried both the 5165 and 5167 on my 7 1/4" inch wrist and made the correct choice.

Hi,
I think the 5167 would be the correct choice. I already had a 5065A and bought last year a 5167A (actually the first that came to Portugal) and I definitely prefer the larger size. But of course, size is a personal matter... Why don't you try both sizes in your wrist and then decide?...
I think the 5167 is the perfect watch: elegant to be carried to everyday working, and also very casual-approriate to go on holiday!... I simply love it!...
Best regards.
