Hi All...I need some advise from you guys.
I'm thinking of making some custom straps with interchangeable pin system from camille for my 5970G.
Any suggestions?
In my head, I'm thinking of a 1) dark brown lightly padded semi matt strap and a 2) medium-dark brown non padded vintage looking strap.
Choice no.2 was once suggested by Suitbert.
Anyone has any idea how a non padded strap will work on a 5970 when it is not that thin and has DB buckle?
Also, what does vintage looking strap mean?
Any pictures to share?
Any 3rd choice suggestion?
Or should I change the DB nuckle to tang?

I put a blue PP strap on mine (similar my ref 5296 one) and I find it complements the watch far better than the brown. The blue plays off the gunmetal hands and seems a better match for the WG. Having said that the brown strap on my 5124 works well but I think that has more to do with the dial than the case colour. You could try this site which allows you to create the strap of your choice (colour, material, stitching, thickness etc) m

I love the blue strap. Is that glossy or Semi-Matt ? Which Patek was it originally meant for?

Same one as Arthur has on his and released to go with the 5296. Only problem I have found is the shiny patent finish wears fairly quickly with regular use.

I actually do like how glossy strap looks like when they become used

I think the option Suitbert gave you is great.  I have seen a Lange Pisa with that I think, frmo a Harry Tan pic.  It looks so cool!!!  Blue is great too.  For a white metal and what/grey dial, the blue is such a nice look.  In fact I hve it on my PT/WG resonance.  However In this case I think I will go with your #2 choice from Suitbert

First, I'm not sure if a non padded strap will work with a 13mm case and secondly, what does vintage looking strap means?

May I ask what color is this strap and what's is it orogonally meant for. Is it meant for 5101 tourbillion?

the 5124 which is also used on the 5101. It probably will be a lot easier to see the former than the latter! Only a personal opinion but I think the 5124 strap looks terrible on the 5970 - tried it on mine. Clashes with all the colours of the watch but would look good on a RG or J. The 'two tone' patent leather blue 5296 strap bounces nicely off the 5970 hands and moon disc. My AD got me a number of different ones into stock for me to try - patent, plain, various alligator scales, colours. etc - a service you unlikely to get elsewhere.

...to the one that comes as standard on the 5101P. I know this as they (the 5970G and the 5101P) sit side by side in the watch box. The 5101P strap is gloss (this one is matt) and the 5101P strap is a slightly darker shade. I just went into an AD and asked for a light brown original Patek strap to change from the dark one that comes as standard as I wanted a different effect to the 5960P, which i have with the originally supplied dark one. Must admit though, i really do like Arthur's dark blue strap as well...a very good match.

You could try a Stingray skin strap with the centre pearl in the colour of your choice - very expensive but pretty unique. XXX do them.

I hadn't even considered it possible. IMO the WG shows these straps soooooo much better than RG or J
