I recently bought a Patek 5130P from an AD in Taiwan. I store it using a Buben & Zorweg winder alongwith 2 other pateks and one rolex. Unfortunately, the 5130P stops working every 4 to 5 days though I wind it about 10 times before I put it on the winder........Am getting worried about this watch since its just about 3 months ago that I bot it. The other Pateks...a 5711R and a 5140J do just fine and I havnt wound them even once since I bot them about a yr ago since I store them in the winder. In fact even the Rolex never stops ticking!!!!
Is there something wrong with my new watch? Should I be contacting the company on this?
Thanks
But your watch is under warranty, so no problem..
Give it back to your AD who will fix that problem for you.
Yes, it happened to me with a 5712...The watches didn't want to wind up, and the crowns remained in my fingers...
But fter 3 weeks of servicing, now it works perfectly...
It may happen.
Best.

Thanks for your reply. But the AD sho sold it to me is in Taiwan and I live in Hong Kong. So do you recommend that I take it to the Patek service centre in HK or wait for my next trip to Taiwan and give it back to the AD?
Thanks.
It will be faster, and as your warranty is international, there is no problem to give it to HK, even if you bought it in another part!
Best.

You may try winding a bit more yourself before putting it on the winder. Also the Cal 240 with the microrotor is known to be a littly touchy as far as its ability to stay wound on a winder, although I believe your 5140 also has the 240 so if that works okay it may not be the problem. Try in 5130 on the same winder head as the 5140 and see if that works, it could be that it's positioned at a better angle or somethign. You didn't mention which winder model you have, but I beleive the Cal 240 prefers to be held more vertically rather that tilted at an angle like most winders.
Good Luck
