Me too I agree.  Love the more classical lines and I have a thing for their retrograde date!

having read the full report made earlier about patek 5207, the design and its new instantaneous calendar function, most impressive.  set aside price tag and all, i still think patek 5016 is more classic looking.  the one thing i am not very sure of about the 5207, is the pattern engraving on the side, it kind of reminds me of Batman the Movie, those lines are a bit too contemporary for my taste.

who knows, may be in near future, all patek models with perpetual calendar function may apply this instantaneous movement. Possible ??

but for me I will go for the 5207 due to its size and readability.

The 5016 photo has golden moon. My 5016 has white moon. Are there many versions of 5016?

Tend to agree with you, even if I have to wait to see it in the flesh ( well, if I'm lucky enough..LOL).

But in pics, I still prefer the classic design of the 5016, compared to the " Baroque " Style of the 5204...

Just a matter ot personnal taste, nothing more.

What a beautiful watch.

I don't usually look at the top end of the PP range, as it just makes me drool and want to rob a bank (LOL)

But thank you for sharing the photos of this gorgeous watch.

Regarding the 5207 - which I have commented on in another thread, I would love to own such a beautiful watch.

But I do agree with regards to the comments about some of the design of the case and repeater button I would much prefer the smoother finish of the 5016.

...not a fan of the fluted case on 5207. Clever movement on the 5207, with the instantaneous date changes etc, but prefer the clean lines of the 5016.

On design alone I would go for 5016. That engraving on the side of 5207 does take a little getting used to. But it is all hypothetical. I would love to own either of them... No, I would love to own both.

Is 5207 going to replace 5016?  Do you have any information?

I like my 5016 with white dial; however, I do like the new function of the 5207.

I prefer the 5016, I do not like the side serrations of the 5207. The 5207 does look nice at times though. As some say, it would be nice to own both.

...I just happen to know a guy who owns them both...and he thinks the 5207 is the bomb!!!

since I don't have the luck to have handled any of them, but judging from spec and picture I'd pick 5207 with it technically superior instantaneous date changes and I particular like the apertures' legible layout! The serrations on the case doesn't add much for me but case's not so much a deal breaker!
Oddly, I don't find the retrograde date appearing, so the beauty of 5016 was not to my taste. FYI I've turned down a 5159 and went for a 5960 when they were offered at the same price!

These two pieces , are my absolute favourite Patek's.

But since my post on this thread, I have now had the privilege to see both pieces.

And though the 5016, is still in my top two, it has now been pipped by the 5207, which I totally adore.

Apart from having the same complication as the 5016, it's aesthetics and legibility are exactly to my taste.

But all of these, is of course hypothetical, as I shall probably never been in the position to own one! LOL
