Does anyone own a 5055? How comfortable is it? I understand the diameter is 36mm... Any wrist shot? How would you compare this model to 5054? Thank you in advance!

Nice watch but ...
White gold with black dial is definitely the one to go for. I believe this is one of the few WG watches that is not rhodium plated which makes servicing relatively more straightforward.
Size is smaller than the current range of PP watches. As my wrist is small, it fits quite nicely and no major complaints except that the case is a magnet for dings & scratches. 240 caliber has some difficulty getting fully wound because of the smaller rotor but that was fully rectified during a service.
You should be able to pick one up at a reasonable price, as recent auction prices were somewhat weak.. General market perception is that collectors seem to prefer the hunter case & dial layout of 5054 over 5055. Notice the difference in luminous markers of 5055 which is unusual, but the more symmetrical layout of the 5054 makes it more widely accepted. One more advantage of 5055 over 5054 is that it is relatively less expensive, new and current prices, but it comes with a very useful folding clasp.

I was thinking about this model and 5054. 5054 is more expensive but basically they are the same watch.
Anecdotal observations from former RG 5055 owner ...
I really liked the contemporary design (as compared to 5054) and thought that it was quite a looker with matching dial color. It was thin and comfortable and IRC 120+ year moon phase accuracy (as if that really matters). No problems with keeping it fully wound even when left for days on Orbita winder. Very nice dress watch, but I never felt over the top when wearing with business casual. Only quibble was ergonomics of winding crown that made it difficult to grasp when setting time or rare occasions when manually winding.
Although not part of my current collection, I would recommend purchase. Cheers and live well!

I agree with AV that 5055 looks more modern and interesting than 5054, but what I've learnt over the years is that personal taste is quite subjective. Main thing is to buy what you truly enjoy, but 5055 is certainly better "value" because this is again a highly subjective perception.
Enjoy and do remember to post pictures of whichever watch you eventually choose. But you can't go too wrong with either.
