3998 question
I have an opportunity to buy a pre-owned 3998. To my untrained eye, it is essentially a smaller version of the 5127, and has now been discontinued. Does anyone have any thoughts on this model?
A very nice Calatrava

The 3998 is a very nice Calatrava IMO.
It uses the same calibre 315 as the 5127, and a very close dial style (but not the very same colour).
The case is also very close in styling, except for the crown guards and the sapphire back present on the 5127.
The case size is smaller on the 3998, 34 mm versus 37 mm on the 5127.
I don't think the 3998 was made in pink gold, only in white or yellow. 5127 is made in the three colours
So it's mainly a matter of proportions IMO.
