ref. 3425, cal. 27–460, but with no second hands?
I happened to see one for sale (with an Archive Extract), and wonder just how rarely PP produced automatics without second hand functions? Presumably it was to satisfy the classic, minimalist tastes of some of their customers. Can anyone shed some light on the relative production numbers of those cal. 27–460 with and without second hands?

personally I don't know of any original 3425 without small seconds - although that alone doesn't mean very much ;-)
The extract can be ordered by case and movement number and most likely doesn't specify this detail - so that's no proof of originality in that regard.
One should keep in mind that it's not too difficult to simply take a, let's say NOS cal. 23-300 dial (which exists in versions without small seconds) shorten the fourth wheel pinion/shaft for the seconds hand and voila, youd have a "rare" version with no small second.
I'm not saying this is the case here, cause I don't know anything about the watch in question, but that would be a possibility to keep in mind.
I've already seen too many "rare" versions whihc revealed to be some sorts of put together of otherwise original parts.
Again. not saying this is the case here, but be carefull!

Patek 3425 without second hand
Hi,
I bought one 3425 with Beyer double sign, which is without second hand. Patek issued extract of archive based on my photos incl. dial. I even remind them it’s without second hand. I tried to search on the web and found your post. It has been very long time ever since. Did you finally bought that 3425 without second hand? Thanks

No. It only mention dial is “3425”. I asked PP service center to consult with their Geneva Headquaters why there is only 2 hands. They think it’s possible but they can’t mention on the archive.
Interesting. I have a ref 1593 with no sub seconds. Also PP did not mention this on archives. [nt]
