Patek Philippe

This is a very beautiful watch that I adore tremendously but can't help to feel that the crown is way too tiny. It is also one watch that I wake up every morning hoping the retrograde hand is functioning prooperly...hahaha talking about being paranoid So far so good *CL

leave your beautiful watch alone , you will start to give it a complex.

I've also developed an irrational fear of retrograde mechanisms...mostly because of a watch from a leading independent watchmaker, someone who has been literally drowning in adulation recently.  The hands fell off while setting the time, and the watch had to go back for service. When it came back the retrograde date wasn't working. 

Meanwhile, the roulette mechanism on my Franck Muller Vegas has been working like a charm for years.  Go figure; guess one can't legislate for blind dumb bad luck. 

All the marketing and net-spawned accolades from the ever-proliferating number of watch experts aside, however, sometimes I just want our little toys to work.  Especially after the warranty has expired.  =)

it's automatic - I  like at least a little bit of "form follows function" and if you have a look at watches from the time when automatic winding eolved to  be the norm you'll se that the crowns were getting smaller as well (so far that some earlier didn't even have one like the Harwood and some others were missing the winding train; i.e. crown was fro hand setting only).

For my taste the 5050 crown looks pretty balanced, could even be a tiny bit more "flat" .
A larger diameter crwon would look like wearing trekking boots and Armani suit

I like, I like ;-)Agree with you about the crown due to it is an automatic.Just need to wear it everyday inorder not to have to reset the time.Don't feel comfortable putting it in the winding box.Lovesss*CL
