Patek Philippe

I know that Patek Philippe and A. Lange & Sohne are in this category, but are there any other brands that are as good or can be named alongside them, or are they like Rolls Royce and Bentley? (Mercedes and the like, although top end luxury, yet not in the same league?)

I believe Patek to be No 1, but i think Jaeger le coultre could be considered no 2 and is by far the best value in the high end watch field.

i think patek are by far the best only because they are the oldest and have the most expensive in the world. then ap ( i could be wrong!!) then vacheron constantin.. but from then on i am stuck.

i have just started getting into gerrard perregeaux and i have no idea where lange come into this either. so i have stuck with 1 patek 2 audemars 3 vacheron. is anyone who is seriously authoritative and i might add indepenent about to put me straight?? that would be good. thanks
