Let's start with the Wonder Watch the nick name I gave to my 3448 since I have it...
The successor of 3448 being the ref 3940, let's go by chronological order... 
The ref 3970 was also launched in 1985, same year as the ref 3940. But mine being a third series it was born after my 3940 (first series)
Finally the ref 5970 is the successor of 3970...
All four are great,
but the 3448 is in a league of its own for me. The enameled numerals which your photo clearly shows (if I’m not wrong) are wonderful. Wonder Watch indeed.

3940 because of the clear outline of the stars. How to they compare in the metal ?
