The tropical band comes with two types of clasp, but I prefer the square type because it has a more vintage feel.
I got an Aquanaut 5066j in good condition. It has a few scratches, but it's not polished very much, so it's small but impressive. I'm especially happy that the unique curves of the Aquanaut on the crown and the opposite bezel are well preserved.

I find your 5066J gorgeous. As you may know, I like the 5060SJ with Roman numerals and leaf hands even a little more, but I know it's just me.

As an Aquanaut fan, my next goal is the 5060SJ with a black dial. After reading your post, my desire to get one exploded, and I wanted it all at once. However, I have not been able to find a good one yet.

I have just one 5066, an A on the rubber strap, but oh man, what a great watch it is!
It is not, thank goodness, my only watch, but it's probably the best only watch candidate (for me) that I could think of.
The appeal of the Uncool 5060, 5066, and 5065 is that they create a unique world that is different from the larger models from 5168 onwards.

There are particulars I prefer: the non-integrated rubber strap, the deeper dial texture, the smaller size. But, beyond those particulars, it's the fact that, even in the midst of yearslong Aquanaut and Nautilus hype, they still come off as not part of all that.

First time seeing push-button clasp on 5066.
Did later year production units come with the newer push button clasps? Or was it provided by PP as a service part? I’m curious as I’d like to try a newer clasp on my 2001 5066a.
