I got an Aquanaut 5066j in good condition. It has a few scratches, but it's not polished very much, so it's small but impressive. I'm especially happy that the unique curves of the Aquanaut on the crown and the opposite bezel are well preserved.

I love the neo-vintage 5065 and 5066, and now I have four A and J models. As you know, they go well with tropical bands and bracelets, so they add variety to your style.

The 5066J would also look great with a J bracelet.

The bracelet matches the 5066a perfectly.
The tropical band comes with two types of clasp, but I prefer the square type because it has a more vintage feel.
As an Aquanaut fan, my next goal is the 5060SJ with a black dial. After reading your post, my desire to get one exploded, and I wanted it all at once. However, I have not been able to find a good one yet.
There are particulars I prefer: the non-integrated rubber strap, the deeper dial texture, the smaller size. But, beyond those particulars, it's the fact that, even in the midst of yearslong Aquanaut and Nautilus hype, they still come off as not part of all that.
Did later year production units come with the newer push button clasps? Or was it provided by PP as a service part? I’m curious as I’d like to try a newer clasp on my 2001 5066a.
