Question for Patek Philippe weekly 5212a
Hi guys,
Hopefully will be receiving my Patek Philippe 5212a this week. Looking forward to get a deployment clasp. Since I don’t wear gold I either have to buy a steel or platinum clasp.
Was wondering whether there are steel clasps for this watch model, if so how much? And do you think a 14mm deployment clasp will be ok for this particular model. Please share your views.

Since I cannot travel due to the COVID restrictions. I spoke to the Singapore Patek service center. They said they do have a 14mm deployment clasp in steel. My only doubt is whether it will be the correct size for this model? I am ready to change the strap also.

Patek for sure don't make a 16mm SS deployant, I wasn't aware of a 14mm SS deployant (which piece is this from) but if they can supply one I think it would work, the strap is currently 20mm to 16mm but 20mm to 14mm with a custom strap I think would work - after all the 6007 and 5370 are 22 to 16mm so the same reduction of 6mm.
The Patek Philippe 5004a has a 14mm deployant clasp. This is what the service person agent replied.
When I asked about a steel deployant clasp I was told they didn't make steel deployant clasps

My best suggestion is definitely to acquire a clasp in *steel* for this model (rather than in Platinum), should you decide to replace the original one from Patek with a deployant clasp, since steel is the material of the case ;-)

Yes, there's 14mm steel deployment buckle and 21 X 14 calf straps. I think I paid about USD600 couple years ago.
Hi, Michael, did you get the stainless steel clasp from PP service center/ Libertas? It is exciting to know that PP will provide this. Though I don't have an allocation for 5212A yet....

My understanding is that Patek does not have a steel deployant clasp and this steel is a third party.
I was told the same when I enquired about a steel deployant clasp for 5212A
Singapore Patek service centre has confirmed with the member Mahdy that Patek do a 14 mm steel deployant clasp and it was for 5004A.

So they continue to make the steel even though the 5004A was extremely limited? Anyway, my AD in the U.S. said no steel deployant was available.
5004A came with a steel deployant clasp and I'm sure owners of 5004A will be able to order a new clasp if they want one.
