I always enjoy reading your posts. I remember during those times I went for an annual calendar and I still have my 5056P. different watches but in the same era.
I subscribe entirely to the sentiments you express, in particular the value of time and relationship that grows with it. I'm sure the buy-to-flip approach has its own satisfactions but it's not for me either. I use watches to slow things down to enjoy gradual experience, the buildup of memory and depth of attachment. These intangible things can't be commodified and bought, and they are uniquely our own. That makes them not just precious, but priceless too.
Especially in our current time, where superficiality defeats culture, Depth, and sometimes, Truth. You just have to take your time. People forget that, too often. Thank you!
It's a complaint made by people throughout history. My user name is taken from a play by Oscar Wilde in which the character referred to that day's 'age of surfaces' to bemoan its superficiality.
I never get tired of you posting some of the watches, which include the 5110p. I know your deep love for the reference all these years. I am contemplating adding a worldtime maybe. Both the 5110 and 5130 are under consideration. I have a strong liking for the scissors hands on the 5130, but suspect the 5110 size is better. I too love the platinum (the grey-blue is sublime), but perhaps the white gold is more attainable. Let us see where fate leads me.
