Patek Philippe 5100.

Finding some good pictures of the 5100 on the net is not as easy as we could think...

A pity, as it is a great reference which, strangely, didn't meet the success it deserves, though.

So here are two I found. ( Credit: Christies ).

The Armada, the four versions all together.

And the solo, the 5100P.

My favorite? The G, for once, because if its stunning blue dial.

You?

Best

Nicolas

Yes, definitely a cool reference of a Patek.

I remember Patek having an ad in their website of a ceo of sorts playing billiards and studying plans in his study. Then a girl comes to the room, very sexy. Attractive, my opinion.
A classic of an ad. Tfs my friend. ☺️

Geross 🥂🍾

My pleasure, Geross. Thanks for commenting. [nt]

A reference I actually find quite attractive.

Saw a G in an AD some years back and loved the blue dial. Alas, I wasn’t in a position to consider it at the time. Pity.

All the best,
Niall

Same here. A few opportunities I could never change into reality... [nt]

It looks truly stunning but unfortunately it's not much desired. Everybody is hunting their Nautili and Aquanaut, Daytona and GMT's. On social media I do read about collectors mentioning the horological superior non-hype watches quite a lot more since the last moth or two. Anyone shares my thoughts? Also I know of a few collectors of hype watches cashing-in and buying a much more technical timepiece compared the one's they traded in. e.g. a Nautilus and Aquanaut can easy go for versions of 5960's to 5970's and 5270's.
This complicated timepiece can almost be bought/traded to from a Daytona and GMT.

Honestly, I think this is the great example that serious watchmaking and high horology is just around the corner from the previous sports watch buyer.

Curious what you guys think.

Wish you all a nice day.

Best, H

Hi H, I am very happy it is not popular, since it will be less hard to get. And once I will have it, I will not care about its popularity. I like it, I don't care about the fact that others like or dislike it.

I just want it. smile
As for your examples, yes, like you, I much prefer the 5960 to a 5711 or 5712. But tastes and colors...
Best,
Nicolas

Mon amí, I purchased a 5100g years ago and have never worn it. I wonder if the oils have dried up. I imagine it needs a service?

I can take some photos when I get a chance. For me it was the nicest because I like blue dials. Lovely watch. Very interesting case also.

The case, the movement, the dial... Everything sings to me on this watch. Yes, you should send it for a service. But you should also wear and enjoy it! [nt]

Hello, just bought 5100R few weeks ago from an old employee of PP. The piece is immaculate and the complication is one of my favourite. I do agree on many comments saying the poor career of 5100. And it is a limited edition... I am very happy for this piece
