men wearing the lady nautilus ? only reason is because it is much smaller for those (like me) who have a small wrist... The waves are not straight on this one so can easily been identified to be a women one ...
Women can wear men watches, so men can wear women watches. Same for pants or dresses....
It's a different world today.

I don't know how much is the new one (for women) but if you want a small nautilus, that is the one for you.
My 2 cents; if you want some small watch, look for the GP laureato 8010, for some friends they copied the bracelet.

could be more Unisex if
Hours and Minutes hands could be changed for those proposed on men's models, IMHO.

Try tracking down ref. 5800 instead............
They were released with the 5711 and only made for a few years so 5800's are kind of hard to find but it's a perfect men's nautilus for smaller wrists. I very much regret selling the one I had the 38mm size was perfect for me.

The wave design in the dial was meant to be on the feminine side. so for me its a no sorry.

I don't think size or men/women designation for a watch is what matters. I have an old 35.5mm Speedmaster which now I suspect women wear. My wife wears the 38mm women's model which I would actually not mind wearing if we had the same wrist size (adjusting the bracelet is a step too far in sharing). She also wears my old Rolex turnograph, although I would not wear her tiny 26mm oyster - got to draw the limit somewhere 
This is not a feminine design IMO although the 5800 is more masculine with the bulkier looks. You may want to have a quick look at the 37mm Royal Oak if the Genta design appeals to you, which is not miles bigger, although I was surprised that it wears larger than I expected.
I like this one... on a ladies wrist...
...but for me it's not THE Nautilus. There are actually many that I personally love (talking about time only ones) : 5800 or 3800 for small wrists, 3700 3710 3711 5711 for normal/larger wrists. For me the design of the ladies version is a feminine interpretation that works for a lady but as for me it would be a no go.
But after all thank God each of us may have his own taste and may choose what he likes. If you like it and you don't see it as some of us, do disregard our opinion and go for it. Just give it a second thought before you pull the trigger.

I saw this reference with my wife a week ago and IMO if this was the only ...
design for Nautilus, we would not think that it was catered for ladies'.
Since we have the 5711 and other similar versions with broader hour markers and straight hour & minute hands, this reference by comparison is therefore less masculine.
If you cannot get an allocation of 5711 in a reasonable time frame and this one works on your small wrist, then go for it !

I understand your search for a watch fitting your wrist size, whatever the usual tastes and brands' offer.
I'm a little the same, especially in regards of the weight: I don't like heavy watches.
About your question now, it is interesting and might really work that way as there are no real feminin-only characteristic. In the mean time some elements make it easy to distinguish this reference from the 5711, this may be a problem. It will not be the style of the 5711 exactly and the dial can be recognizable from you as the more feminin reference.
The only question I see is would it bother you in the future to see pictures of this watch on the net at the wrist of women? Finding many opportunities elements that remind you that it is a lady's watch, will it finally waste your pelasure?
I know that sooner or later, if I was at your place, this would appear and I would have a problem with that.
If you think you won't see that often and that it won't bother you, then it could indeed be a good choice.
Very personal but you need to think twise indeed as it is not a "unisex" watch but a watch for ladies. The 15450 RO (in 37mm) is unisex and not ladies-only.

As mentionned, it was indeed produced at the same time as the beginning of the 5711.

It is an automatic movement (330 S C, whereas 324 S C in the 5711), visible through the see-through caseback and measuring 38.4 mm (40 mm for the 5711).
It kept the 2 parts case design (the 5711 is 3 parts now as you know).

The construction of its case with two parts follows the original design and has more original Nautilus DNA than 5711.
However, since the production run was short, perhaps its smaller size was not appreciated as much by Nautilus collectors due to it being less of a jumbo ?
For PuristS with smaller wrists, this reference IMO is perfect from the fit / suitability perspective.

Fashion and the current collections are one thing. But getting back to what matters and facts is a very good way to find what is right too!
The 5800 is totally Nautilus, mechanical movement and great size (not too small at all), thus a perfect offer.

The 5711 size might be ok
for your wrist..
It tends to wear smaller, as the dial is dark and the bezel is thick..
Besides its 40mm from 1 to 7, but since it's more of a square, the length and with is about 29x29 (ignoring the ears).. All the best
