Spotted: Cars to crow about

We got back on the car-spotting project today, as it was warm and sunny, and we had a heckuva good time. Including roosters in the road:

An old Thunderbird known as the "Square Bird"

For obvious stylistic reasons

Then a bright yellow but shabby El Camino

slightly modified

A 62 Chevy Bel Air - thus celebrating its 55th birthday this year!

A slightly newer 1963 Ford Truck (for sale, if you're interested)

with Ford Econoline headlights

This is a Chrysler wagon, very extravagantly decorated

1957 Buick SUPER

A bad roof, a rusty VW squareback, an El Camino, with an old Dodge truck around the corner

A 1964 Datsun / Nissan pickup. The owner was out waxing it when we cruised by and we had a nice conversation about our respective car collections (we each have 8 cars)

The earliest Jeep Cherokee I've ever seen

1978 Buick T-Type Turbo

Lincoln. I'll say nothing more

This purple Lincoln looks tasteful by comparison

1953-54 Chevrolet Low Rider

VW Scirocco (I think)

1966 Corvair

1964 Pontiac Bonneville

I think this is a 1958-59 GMC Apache pickup

Sorry - this El Camino is a bit of a dog

Mismatched wheels, rotten bodywork, etc.

Whereas this Chevy truck is very nice

Now to explain the rooster - we were driving slowly down this road, which was a bit poorly maintained and between two larger streets. I heard crowing and saw a pair of rooster walk out in the road after me.
We stopped, trying to crane our heads around to see them. They seemed angry that we had driven in their territory. An elderly woman was watching from her front yard, and asked "are you looking for an address?"
I replied, "No, I'm looking at some chickens". She said "They're wild - please take as many of them as you want."

We discussed it and decided we weren't up for a chicken lunch, and went for fish & chips instead.

On the way home we came to a road crew, and stopped to take a photo and have a nice chat about earth scrapers. See the size comparison:
