A. Lange & Söhne

This was held last night at the Novus Restaurant and Bar located within the National Museum of Singapore and saw 2 graduates from the Akademie as well as a new batch of students.

 This was the demo area where Manfred showed us the basics of polishing and attaching of screws to the balance wheel.

The refreshments bar whih served up not just fine wine and champagne but also some nice watches on the counter.

The dessert which was all I really cared about ...

The dome like biscuit on the top is made from dehydrated chocolate... the custard below was heavenly but for those that like a darker chocolate, the cup souffle was heavenly.

The National Musuem which surprisingly came out well with the iphone..

Thank you again Lange... the Akademie is a great initiative for owners to get more intimate with the brand.  Other brands could stand to learn 10 things or more from Lange with regards to client loyalty programs.

better then our older one??

as mentioned, the uptown data is a good progression of mechanical substance and not much less marketing fluff.  I see you;re working hard as a mod now giving event coverage... LOL...

to be frank, I am just not sure i prefer our older Dato out of loyalty and familiarity, or otherwise. The new up/down Dato clearly is "superior" in almost everyday to our version, so its down to aesthetics and balance. 

said that... But the original Dato.. you know the significance, iconic reason and break through at the time better than I do.  But that is perhaps sentimental as is my fetish for roman numerals The new Dato with its bigger dial/case and baton markers is cleaner but so yes.. aesthetics it is down to and I still like the original Dato better.  But is the new Dato superior.. I don;t know... it has a PR yes.. but superior?  I really don;t know.
