Always a quite sensible difference between touching even for a short time a watch and just admiring pics.

I guess Lange has spread positive evolutions over many watches of the collection, for the best, even if not always spectacular (except maybe for the new Dato).

I was awaiting such an article, so that I could see some "real" photos rather than the published ones.

I found the thread most interesting and I thank Narsi for confirming my question re the chapter ring and the small arrow marker.

Like other members have argued I too would have preferred to have seen either the piece fitted with a manual wind or a micro rotor, so that I could see more often the stunning Tourbillion, rather than having to keep on rotating the watch to move the rotor out of the way!!!

The Datograph is and will always remain one of my favourite pieces and the re-vamp that Lange have done has nothing to dampen my view smile

The perpetual kalender is gorgeous.

The dial is clean, easy to read, and its caliber is perfect. I think it can be not improved.

What I was hoping for in a Daymatic moon phase was over exceeded by the Tourbillion perpetual novelty. Both smiling and crying as it will break the bank. I was hoping for an automatic Time Zone, maybe next year. Both of these models could be my first Lange, funds permit.

Like everyone else on here I was keen to see the new datograph side by side with the old in real life which Nicolas has provided. Thank you Nicolas.

I was convinced that the new datograph was nicer than the old when first announced but now Im not so sure!! I also found another real photo so that people can make a comparison.

Well, the more I see these 2, the more I think the former had more character and strenght. [nt]

Yes. "The Classic Datograph has more character". This says it all.

The new one is technically impeccable and aesthetically well balanced,. BUT it lacks the elements that make the original Datograph's strong personality.

We are in agreement here.

After some in-the-flesh-time with the revised Datograph.  Your sentiments do not surprise me.

If not for the overwhelming success of the Datograph, I think we could better receive this new piece.  Alas, you are right.  The triangular order, the driving force to why I love the original, is ruined with the power reserve indicator. 

I do applaud the effort.  Bold to even try in fact.  And perhaps newer fans of the brand will thoroughly enjoy it.  But I will still dream of the D1...

Those who lived several years with the first Dato on their wrist or in their dreams may well remain stuck with it, while new clients may well appreciate it.

A bit like cars... Carburator or injection? When you tasted the pleasure of carburators for many years, you have some iisues with injection, even if it is techically superior.
