Yesterday I announced the new Richard Lange Tourbillon Pour le Mérite (click here to see the post) - several hours too early. For this I would like to apologise unreservedly to Lange Uhren. My mistake was embarrassing and thoroughly inconsiderate.
The embargo was clearly stated as 20 December 9 am GMT on the email announcement from Lange Uhren. I completely overlooked that and only noted the 20 December date embargo on the press release file itself, which I saved. Hence I posted it on 20 Dec GMT +8.
As a professional this would be unforgivable, but for amateur hack like myself it is even worse, because I actually like and respect the company, its products and the people.
This is acutely distressing for myself but this kind of public error deserves a public apology. Sorry to everyone at Lange Uhren.
I will find a hole to hide in now.

I really doubt the time impacts anyone apart from those that may not be buyers of the watch. You have and still do great work for Lange and many brands here. If Lange rebukes you, then just step down.
which further raises my esteem for them.

.. to apologise and admit an error publicly like you did, even though in our eyes this was just an accident and is really not a big issue anyway. People make mistakes and a mistake with time zones are just very common and easy. Especially on this forum, I think a few of the fellow Purists already know about the news even before you announced it and the impact is just very minimal. Yet you chose to write an open apology to Lange for the sake of trust, respect, and correctness, it takes courageous good man to do that.
I'm also happy that Lange appreciate your continuous contribution to our community and is being very gracious about this.
One word for all the parties involved - Class!
in this world then posting an article a few hours too early, I'm sure the people at Lange understand that as well. Mistakes happen, keep up the good work! (The write up was great by the way)

Its an honest mistake and we all make these, sometimes.
Best,
Goh

But you have done many, many good to Lange Uhren already and the total is still on far good side. Looking forward to the "next" from you, and I am sure so is Lange Uhren to interaction with you.
