BtW if you work with a larger F (aperture) you should be able to get a more clear movement in term of focusing?

I've already try to merge different pictures in one .... but it looks less natural IMO

...especially the second from the last, the one we see the depth of the movement is truly innovative. I never saw this movement from such an angle. I simply loved it .

pictures on what is one of the SHARPEST watches out there.... Thanks for sharing a perhaps sometimes overlooked technological marvel from the House of Lange. Am assuming it wears well on the wrist due to its huge presence but wondering how it is after a full day or two? Kindly share comments if able to. Thanks again JX!!

according to the lucky SOB who owns the watch, it can be too heavy to wear for extended periods. Sadly only the lucky SOB has the opportunity to wear it for extended periods.

Great photography.  I just landed a platinum Dato and love it.  To me it is the worlds most beautiful Chrono. But i suspect i'm preaching to  the choir. I tried on a double split over the holidays. It is a truly  outrageously beautiful watch.

I don't get it. I'm no Schwarzenegger, but I have some way-heavy watches. My Omega Planet Ocean on bracelet is 220g all up - that's gotta be heavier than the Double Split. Most Panerais (even on leather straps) would be the same weight or heavier. I never notice the extra weight when wearing my Omega.



A 220g wristwatch is nothing compared to the actual weight of one's upper limb, which is probably around the 5-8kg mark. Just the forearm alone would probably weigh 2-3kg. So we are talking about maybe a 5-10% increase in effective weight when wearing a very heavy watch.

The only real disadvantage of a heavy watch, particularly one on a strap, is that the watch may feel unbalanced on the wrist, with a tendency to slide radially around the wrist, putting pressure on the forearm bones. This is surely just a matter of adjusting the strap so this doesn't occur.

Any Double Split owners out there who feel inconvenienced by the weight of their watch can engage my services as a wearer-by-proxy.

but the Datograph with deployant weighs in approx 169 grams. On a tang
buckle you need to subtract approx. 20 grams leaving indeed approx 150
gram to carry around. I'd be surprised if a DoubleSplit weighs 70
grams more - that is 50% and seems a little high a number - but it is
heavy indeed.

being a fan of all things Lange. Don't suppose that a lot of PT bracelets have been sold as they do add a LOT more weight onto already substantial watches, but to each his own...

Having said that, wondering if the addition of said bracelet would really solve the issue of the "head" moving onto the side? I would think that the heavier bracelet would cause more of the tilting? Wish I had this problem to ponder while wearing at this magnificent watch

to the latest, soon to be replaced, brochure.
That is a 33.000 Euro difference, approx 67% of the Dato MSRP

I don't own one but I have tried on one and I have to agree with you, it's a really 'thick' and 'hefy' watch. For a brief moment I had it on me my wrist, the mass is too much for me, however I cannot deny it's beautiful presence. I'm happy with my Dato .. for now that is
