I just purchased a Cabaret, literally yesterday, and was speaking with a friend of mine who owns a Lange 1. He said that a watch dealer he was speaking with (a legitimate dealer who has been around a while) told him that the Lange is not really an everyday watch because the lugs are soldered on rather than being one piece and that if worn every day they could become loose or worse.
I'm just wondering if this is accurate?
Thanks
WHich Cabaret did you purchase btw? It would be nice if you could also post a photo of your piece.
Yes, i have heard before as well that the lugs in a Lange are indeed soldered on, and when one looks at them via a loupe, i think you can see how it isnt formed out of the case.
But when the AD said about wearing it daily and thus causing the lugs to become loose of such, i have never heard such a story before. Probably what he means is that if you treat the Lange really in a rough manner, like say hit it specificially on the bottom of the lugs( even this with GREAT STRENGTH), causing a lever effect , then you might dislodge the lugs!
But really Lange's are very well made watches, one of the best in the industry. And i also need to emphasize that a Lange isn't meant to be worn during rough activities, such as sports or while doing heavy labour. If you wear your Lange to the office, to formal events and such, of course you can wear them everytime, some people i know even wear them to sleep and to the shower!
They are quality products which are meant to last a lifetime, often times even longer than we are!
So don't worry, and as long as you treat your watch with due respect, it will serve you a lifetime and beyond!
Cheers and i hope that i have been of some assistance!
Stephen
