In the Dressy Watches Category, I own 3:

The PP Calatrava 5196P, the JLC Reverso 70eme, and this Langematik Anniversary.

Let's say that the 70eme is a bit more than a Dressy watch, as it bears several interesting complications, so the Lange would be on the top of this category, indeed.

Above the 5196P, for me, even if I love a lot the PP.

But the enamel dial makes the difference!

austerity of the bridge of Lange1....

The perfect "email" dial, who make a good alternative to the too sad Lange1 dial.

Well, I was used to live with another comparison, about movements...The one of the Dato, which is a Bomb!

So I was more sceptic about the caliber of the Anniversary.

But I gave some time to appreciate it ,ad now I really enjoy this 3 Quarter Rotor, and the nice finish of the other parts of this caliber.

A Classic, really.

Wow more than I expected but we couldn t expect any less......Watchmaking purity...Still I d love to know a bit more about the graphic choice of the LA s dial.They created without any doubt a stunning dial ,a succesful blend of harmony and simplicity.I wonder if the choice of roman numerals was by chance or had a reason or the typical railroad of the 1815 for example never seen(if I am correct )in the langematik serie.Beautiful job Nicolas ,,,,amazing........Mo

This is not exactly the same railroad than on the 1815:



Note the differences at the indexes located each 5 minutes...Not the same design, even if the same spirit...

As for the Roman Numerals, this is not a chance, this is a well thought stylistic choice, as you could see them on Old Pocket Watches, for example.

Yep, this is pure Watchmaking Purity and Beauty...

and also for reminding me on what is filed in my mind as one of my "top THREE most wanted watches but unable to get for one reason or another" category. A TRUE gem in every sense of the word. Hope Lange comes out with something similar or better soon enough

I concur, Lange should re-release this piece @ 40 mm with a manual wound movement.

If you consider the whole volume of this watch, a bigger diameter would enhance the thickness, the bezel, and at the end, maybe it will loose it perfect balance, as it often happens when you amplify an original design.

See for example the RO from AP, and the extrapolation ROO...

But I have to agree with you, a Manual ovement ala Datograph would be a dream!

could keep the dimensions in perfect balnace to 40,0 mm. I must admit to liking larger watch diameters, with this IWC 5002 strapped to my wrist today!

Of course sch a watch has to be seen in the flesh , to be able to judge if 4 mm more won't loose the balance of a watch which reaches the Perfection.

If I say that, it is becasue I had a recent experience where I compared the Dato to the Double Split...

And the outcome was not at all in favor of the Double Split...

But I will say more later, as I'm preparing a post on this topic

Yes, my friend, this Lange 1 Tourbillon in platinum was a big love for me, but how to say it, a bit OOR for me...

Well, 00R doesn't stand for Out Of Range, in this case, but for Out Of Reach... LOL

I had several occasions to admire it again and again, and each time, it was a pain in my heart!

Agree, my friend, one of the nicest Tourbillons ever made, if not the nicest...Well, with the Gyro II from JLC, of course!

By now you know of my love for enamel dials, especially white with roman numerals! This is one of the pieces that has so far eluded me...I do love it and it is my favourite Lange made so far.
