We could also say that an icon exceeds te brand it comes from, to belong to Horology in general.
Does Langematic fit into this? Possibly, but I am not certain about it.

Well, there is nothing like the Langematik Anniversary in the Lange universe. They didn't touch it again. At the contrary of the Datrograph. To me, they killed the icon with the second generation. ;)
Dato has definitely left its mark on its era and also stands the test of time. And IMHO no, it is not killed by 2nd gen, Lumen, etc. They live in parallel to the original.
Regarding Anniversary- back in a day I was excited to go see it live and my expectations proved to be too high. There was nothing wrong with the watch, the problem was with my expectations...
