A. Lange & Söhne

I’m a big fan of Lange’s earlier offerings like this up/down in 36mm from 2007.  The yellow gold case and size perfectly complement the whimsical fairytale-esque aesthetics of the watch.  I believe the watch will age gracefully and will be remembered as an important example of Lange’s earlier efforts.

I recently read that Lange was the first to create the power reserve indicator, so the UP/DOWN is really the truest expression of Lange. I was delighted to learn this as the power reserve indicator is my favourite complication on a mechanical watch. 

At one time I owned an earlier version of the 36 mm 1815 in YG. The blue hands really pop going great with gold, which makes for a very attractive overall package 

And it went very well with the strap!
