Just a quick question ... For the time-only Zeitwerk model, does the second hand supposed to go to 12 o’ clock position when power reserve goes to zero (AB)?
I believe it was first introduced on the 1994 Tourbillon Pour le Merite

Rather than hack the Tourbillon the stop works stopped the seconds at zero, any wind of the chain onto the Fusee restarts the Tourbillon instantly and thereby allows accurate setting of the seconds. 👍
I totally forgot about that until you mentioned it.

Also, just in case you don't know about the (free, numbered) copy of Peter Chong's wonderful Tourbillon PLM book that Lange will send you once they verify your serial number (unless a prior owner of your watch already got the book and kept it), the info is below. I think a lot of owners never knew about this. A. Lange & Sohne: The Pour le Merite Collection Author: Peter Chong ISBN-13: 978-981-08-8221-1 Hardcover: 200 pages + 200 high resolution original photographs Tranch A: 200 copies Deluxe version NOT FOR SALE. To be presented to current owners of the original TOURBILLON “Pour le Merite” wristwatches by Lange Uhren. Individually numbered in accordance to the limited edition number of the watch. Proof of ownership by visual inspection of TOURBILLON “Pour le Merite” is required by registration with Authorized Dealers or Lange Service Centers or Lange representatives worldwide.
…stop on zero. And Grand Lange 1 too I think. This is combined with immediate start after the first turn of winding - like in the RL. The Zeitwerk Minute Repeater mostly stops on zero, too. But here I assume it to happen because of the power the minute jump needs… When winding up, it just starts to run after many winds…
I remember another member also reported this a few years ago. Mine doesn't reset (I have tested it only once). Sent a message to ALS asking about this. Not a big deal, just curious ...
that it doesn't have a zero reset function. I've been monitoring it over the past few days, and in some cases the second hand lands exactly on 12, sometimes it is just a few seconds off and sometimes it is quite a bit off (~ 10 s). In any case, it doesn't really offer any functional advantage as far as I can see (unlike RL model).
My 1815 Up/Down seconds will always stop on "12" when the power reserve runs out. When it comes to the Zeitwerk, it is my understanding that the movement DOES stop when power runs down to a level where jumping the minutes or hours would risk damage, however, that does not mean that it will stop at "12". This is how my Zeitwerk Date functions as well.
