1815 Thin Honeygold "Homage to F. A. Lange"
It arrived incredibly quickly.
This is doubtlessly a dressy watch, as it will fit easily with any shirt cuffs.
The watch was launched to celebrate the 175th Anniversary of the birth of F. A. Lange and was unveiled (along with two other models) at the Watches & Wonders Exhibition in Shanghai from Sep 9 -13. As to be expected, all three models feature timepieces housed in honey-colored gold - an ALS proprietary metal that is exceedingly hard.
Because the two models share the same movement (L0931.1), the 1815 was often compared to the plainer time-only Saxonia Thin. Nevertheless, at 38 mm x 6.3 mm, the 1815 has more pleasing dimensions (Saxonia Thin is 37 x 5.9)
The watch is limited to 175 pieces.

Note the two-part fired enamel dial and Arabic indices.
The three-quarters plate has a frosted-grain finish, plus black-rhodium filing for the engraving on the balance cock, reminiscent of classic pocket watches. The watch is manually wound.

I am kicking myself hard for passing over the Zeitwerk HWK eight years ago when it was offered to me after I visited the manufacture ...
It's a lovely, understated watch...
...part of me wants to see a seconds hand to give it some 'action.' If I were looking for a watch for my son (I am), this would be in the running. You have an amazing collection, but I am drawn to the the Cabaret : )

I got the Cabaret through the Internet, at a reasonable price, after the model was discontinued. It is now wearing a strap made of vintage elephant skin....
I will never be rich enough to buy it...
...but this Cabaret is a good candidate if you could have just one watch.

I thought these watches would only be delivered in December to mark the 175th anniversary on 7th December. I am pleased to say that I too have ordered one from the Singapore boutique and finally, I am able to own a Sam Wan watch!

Good for you for ordering one. I heard through the grapevine that Lange has stopped taking orders and will be imposing new conditions for selling the watch. Have you heard the same thing?
To order mine Sam, it was perseverance on my part!
I spoke to the KL boutique (owned by Sincere Watches) and they had an allocation of only one watch! Then I called up the London boutique (owned by Wempe) and their allocation was also poor. I wanted to find a Lange boutique owned by Richemont as I knew their allocation would be better. So I called the Paris boutique and discovered they were owned by a Middle Eastern dealer so again the allocation was poor. Finally, I called the Singapore boutique and discovered that they were owned by Richemont and sure enough their allocation was much larger and I managed to leave a deposit for the watch.
I am pretty sure they are all sold out by now. I know that the Rattrapante and the Tourbillon were application only watches.
Sam, I am surprised that you did not opt for the Rattrapante too!

Anyway, you have one of the most amazing collections among us purists so if the Lange 1815 honey gold is good enough for you, it is most reassuring for me!
