Keep the DS!

I would sell the Langematik Perpetual and the Datograph and put this "together" for a 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual!
Concerning variety of movements a Purist likes to have in a collection: The Double Split is unique and outstanding. The movement has the base of the Dato plus the added Double Split function. So you have this movement in your collection and don´t obligatory need the Dato any more. Instead, the 1815 Rattrapante Movement is different in style!

Alternatively, you could go for a Dato Perpetual, but then movement is similar to DS and to my mind, the moon phase is far not as beautiful as this of the 1815 - so is legibility despite the date. 

I had the same kind of "dilemma" and this was my choice for Lange collection: 






Different dial colours and styles and the big date added...

I would not let go the Langematik Perpetual with it´s lovely Sax-0-mat micro rotor movement.

Personally, I would tend to swap the DS for a Datograph Perp. WG

Three Lange are better than only one or two.

Is indeed phenomenal. What giving up the Perpetual would allow me to do is go for the Langematik Anniversary - same movement.

if it was me I will go for 1st option ie keep what you have..

Personally I am not a fan of the 1815 rattrapant and Dato perpetual for various reasons both aesthetically and technically..

HI Andreas,

I would recommend you to keep what you have. If you really waste a thought then maybe you can exchange the Dato for the Dato Perp....but never ever I would let a DS go away. A couple of years ago I replaced my Dato with a DS but I never regret it.No second. But.... as you see above: having a DS and a 1815 PerpRattr in a collection can be a very satisfied feeling.

Hope not to confuse you... Keep them!

During the last couple years, I wasn't wearing my Datograph much. It just wasn't doing it for me. Then all of a sudden, it is my favorite watch. I have been wearing it for a couple months straight and have not gotten bored with it. I think we go through various cycles and sometimes we want change. It would happen again with the new crop of watches. Maybe change a watch strap.

I've recently gone through a similar dilemma....my humble opinion is keep the 1815 Rattrapante without a shadow of a doubt. Sell the Dato, DS and Dato PC and perhaps buy a Datograph Tourbillion or if you want to sell the 1815 Rattrapante, you can rotate into a Turbograph wink
