Description

From my private collection….. Here is a piece you don’t see often… ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL – MODEL 1018 What is special about this timepiece is the thin oyster case, chronometer officially certified…and most importantly, complete set in NOS condition. Look at the COSC certificate, the test results were hand written….very vintage looking and detailed…after 41 years. This fine timepiece is NOS…unworn, passed down by hand (not wrist) from one generation…to the next and I have kept it in the same unworn condition (the certificate still feel crisp after all these years) Time to let it go to another serious collector Model – 1018 Dial – silver with baton markers Case – 36mm Bracelet – 7206, 58 end link, clasp mark 68 Warranty dated 1969 Comes with green Rolex box, warranty booklet, COSC, green tag Selling this rare time capsule timepiece for - SGD$5800– USD$4560 You will not come by another piece in this condition…. 100% original or full refund

📖 About This Reference

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Reference 1018 is a less commonly encountered model within the Oyster Perpetual lineage, distinguished by its understated design and slimmer profile compared to its more robust Oyster Perpetual Date or Datejust counterparts. Positioned as a simpler, time-only offering, it represents a period of Rolex production focused on essential functionality within a refined aesthetic. This reference typically features a 36mm stainless steel Oyster case, characterized by its smooth bezel and slender lugs. It is powered by the automatic Rolex Caliber 1570, a reliable and robust movement known for its precision and durability, offering a power reserve of approximately 48 hours. The crystal is generally acrylic, contributing to its vintage appeal, and the case design provides a water resistance suitable for daily wear at the time of its production. For collectors, the Reference 1018 is appreciated for its purity of design and its relative rarity, particularly examples with less common dial configurations such as a salmon hue. Its discreet presence and adherence to fundamental Rolex principles make it an appealing choice for those seeking a vintage Oyster Perpetual that stands apart from the more ubiquitous references, offering a blend of historical significance and understated elegance.

Rolex 1018 Salmon.
Here is a watch I could have bought, but I have a doubt on the hands, which, I think, should be " Alpha Hands " in gold. The thing with the 1018 is the slim case and lugs, plus, here, the dial, salmon, which is really sublime. And, cherry on the cake, it is from 1964, which is a great year ( for me

Considering the high prices vintage sport Rolex watches have reached in the last years, I feel it is worth considering other less explored...
... references of our beloved brand. This is the case of the Turn O Graph model which by some reason hasn´t received the attention it deserves from collectors I feel. Personally I am very fond of this not so popular model, and this reference 6609 from 1956 is a good example of the charm some old exa

What Do Purists Think of 34mm Vintage Rolex References?
Hello Purists. I have seen many unflattering remarks directed towards 34mm vintage Rolex on other forums. Many (not all) say they are undesirable because they are too small for today’s style standards and therefore are worth less than their 36mm and above brethren and not likely to ever appreciate i

My Rolex dilemma.
I have owned three Rolexes in my life. Quite a few years ago I had WG Daytona (on a strap). It's long gone. About 4 years ago I bought a (beautiful-to me) Steel Yachtmaster with platinum bezel. That has left my collection as well. Presently I got a Used/Mint piece which I have been wearing quite a b
