Rolex Royal Navy Clearance Diver

Rolex and the Royal Navy have a long association going back to the 1950’s and actual military issued pieces such as the 5517 now sell at eye-watering prices as I'm sure you all know. 

This RN Clearance Diver Limited Edition watch was produced by Rolex to commemorate 60 years of the Clearance Diver Branch of the Royal Navy, famed throughout the world for their military diving, mine and bomb disposal. 

Limited to only 50 pieces and made available only to Royal Navy Clearance Divers through the Royal Navy Fleet Squadron the watch I believe is the only Rolex Deepsea so far produced as a limited edition and has a stunning Rolex engraved special case back depicting the RN Clearance Diver Branch crest and the watch issue number. 

This watch was owned by a former Royal Navy Clearance Diver whom has operated in the UK and abroad in a range of operational and deployment diving. A full resume of his career will accompany the watch but in short he has been deployed with the Hong Kong Diving Unit receiving recognition of his work involving Triad convictions, been involved in Mine countermeasure duties in the Persian Gulf aboard HMS Chiddingford, a Hunt Class Mine hunter, worked as a saturation diver as part of the trials team at HMS Vernon, engaged as a Clearance Diver both in the UK and abroad with the Fleet Clearance Diving Unit 2 and Counter Terrorism MCT Unit 1 and working with the Special Boat Service (SBS) and completion of special forces training. Latterly he was deployed to Iraq for the last Gulf War as part of a 4 man EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) unit in Basra. 

The watch is in brand new condition having never been worn and still having some of it's original stickers in place.
