Description

This a men's presidential 18K yellow gold day/date watch with a fluted bezel.

The reference number is R1823889LB8385

The serial number begins with an "E", indicating that it was made in 1991.  The watch was purchased new from an authorized Rolex dealer in 1993.

The watch has a double quick-set mechanism making a breeze to set both the numerical and alphanumeric date.

The watch has a gorgeous genuine Rolex blue lapis dial that came with the watch (from the factory; it was not added later).

Also included is a genuine Rolex diamond bezel set in 18K yellow gold.  The bezel is in pristine condition.  The model number is MBZ448800.   The original case is included.  This bezel was purchased brand new for this watch.  It has a current retail value of $10K.

The watch comes with the original box and all the papers as well as a handsome Rolex leather notebook (with 2 Rolex notepads) and a Rolex leather card holder.

The watch was purchased and has always been worn by a member of my immediate family.  The only servicing (including any polishing) of the watch has been through Rolex.

The watch was only worn on special occassions and is in very good condition.

The authenticity of this watch and bezel is guaranteed.  Any serious buyers are more than welcome to inspect the watch and bezel during the auction period.  I will be happy to meet any serious buyer at a watch dealer or technician in Manhattan to validate the watch's authenticity.

Only Paypal with a verified address will be accepted and only if the shipping address is the same as the verified address.  I will only ship once payment is received.  I am happy to exchange the money and watch in person in Manhattan.

Serious buyers may contact Adam at 212-552-4846 for further information.

📖 About This Reference

The Rolex Day-Date reference 18238, part of the Cellini collection, represents a significant evolution in the Day-Date lineage, distinguished by its introduction of the double quickset function. This enhancement allowed for independent and rapid adjustment of both the day and date displays, a notable improvement over earlier single quickset models. It maintains the classic Day-Date aesthetic while offering enhanced practicality for daily wearers and collectors. This reference features a 36mm Oyster case crafted from 18k yellow gold, housing the automatic Caliber 3155. The movement provides a power reserve of approximately 48 hours and is protected by a sapphire crystal, contributing to its water resistance of 100 meters. The fluted bezel is a signature element, complementing the various dial options available for this model. For collectors, the 18238 is appealing for its blend of traditional Day-Date design with modern functionality. It sits as a transitional reference, bridging the gap between earlier iterations and more contemporary models, making it a desirable piece for those seeking a classic Rolex with improved usability. Variants include different dial colors and hour marker configurations.

Ok can't believe I'm thinking about this...
But am considering getting back to Rolex this year - but am thinking about the right starting model? I\'ve dabbled many years with stainless sports models but am considering going full gold or vintage. I\'m currently spending a lot of time with AP and Patek but there\'s something about Rolex that ta

Iam in Love with this dial & I cant find it :))
Lapis lazuli Roman numerals dial on a Rolex 18238. I had bought this dial in 1996 and later switched the watch with a PT version. Now only regrets as this dial gives me that sensational feeling.... Where to get this dial now ?

comment Hello Adam, I`m interested on your watch, but not on the diamond bezel, If you're willing to sell it without the bezel what would be your best price?, I don`t know how much the diamond bezel is worth separetly. I have a Pay-Pal account and a 100% possitive feedback on ebay, but, in case we get to an arrangement, I`ll go an pick up the watch to N.Y.,thanks for your prompt answer, regards, Alex
