The evidence? An advertising from 1964, found on the net ( credit unknown ). " It is called Le Mans ". I could take some pictures of an early 6239, dating from early 1963, with a serial number which is 923 xxx. The same that on the advertising, bracelet apart. And a pretty nice looking one! Interest

Rolex Daytona 6239.... got to love a manual chrono
Not "the" first, but certainly one of the first vintage Rolex that i bought. It has been in my collection for 6-7 years now....i need to check....at least 6 years. I have had more offers to sell this watch than any other in my collection, but its what I call a "Blomman watch".... just not for sale.
