Description

 OMEGA  GOLD FLIGHTMASTER

Cal. 910 Flightmaster, No. 487449, Ref. BA 345.0801.

The watch was sold to the father of my wife in 1971, unfortunately he early was touched by a rapid form of Dementia and Alzeimer.

In the last clear time he had he gave us this watch and different other things. So now we had to sell the watch, to get the money for his very expensive health care place.

The Flightmaster is a very fine and exceptionally rare watch, two time-zone, water-resistant, 18K yellow gold aviator's wristwatch with 4 hands and 3 crowns, round button chronograph, 12-hour and 30-minute registers and an 18K yellow gold Omega bracelet with deploy ant clasp.

At the 28of October 2009 I was at an offical Omega Shop here in Winterthur (Romer, watches since 1934), they have opend the watch and checked the watch for authenticity and genuiness as an Omega Gold flightmaster.

18K solid Gold Flightmaster, Ref: BA345.0801, launched in 1971 . The first ex. was delivered to King Hussein. To date, only 2-3 examples of this Model has been sold by Antiquarian centers..

The first was sold in April 2007 for 49,560 Swiss francs! (look at omega chronograph at /www.heirloom2.con)
A second on was sold at www.liveauctioneers.com for AUS $ 42000.00 (about 40 tsd Swiss francs), these days.
  • The last one was sold at an auction in the Antiquarian Geneva (thanks to MSNWatch, this year for 36,380 Swiss francs, inclusive of buyer's premium. (referencing the informations I have at this moment).

The Flightmaster is one of Omega's MOST collectible Chronographs ..... Weighing over half a pound (Weight: 250grams) with the bracelet, this is one of the heaviest wrist watches ever produced.

The Watch is in a NEAR MINT Condition tempered mineral glass crystal sealed into a water resistant position (tested at 6 atmosphere). High grade Cal 910 manual winding movement.
NEAR MINT Condition dial with original set of hands
NEAR MINT Condition 18K Solid Gold case with sharp edges. On the backside is a small scratch from the last “over all service” (it's the only sign in about 40 years)
Special features include: 4 dials, 2 push-buttons, 2 technical winding crowns, revolving elapsed-time bezel set under glass, stop watch properties, 3 small dials register elapse intervals up to 12 hours, 30 minutes.
Large GOLD dial with sweep second hand tells regular time of day, special blue coloured hand enables you to tell at a glance the time in two different time zones.
Original collored crowns and coloured pushers.
Water resistant screw-back with a plane logo and signed Flightmaster
Original Mint Condition OMEGA 18k solid gold extra long massive 18k bracelet.
The Omega Flightmaster Chronograph was developed specifically for pilots (& astronauts) and is one of the Omega’s most popular time pieces.

Cal. 910, copper-coloured, 17 jewels, straight- line lever escapement, mono metallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring.

All functions are in a perfect shape.

At the moment I'm checking all the old paper stuff in the flat and the cellar, and I'm even sure that I'll also find the original chase and the papers and so on – I am sure, my father in law was a very methodical and orderly person that I'll find the papers till the 2snd of November.
