Description

FS:  MINERVA 18k pink gold chronograph.  This rare piece is from that short period between when Minerva was sold (by the Frey family) to a group of Italian investors and watch enthusiasts. It was finally sold to Richemont  - after which the brand name Minerva essentially disappeared, and was replaced by Montblanc.  During that short period of time, the Minerva calibres were significantly upgraded to high-horology standards (as they remain at the very top-end of the Montblanc offerings). This watch was purchased by me (on this forum) from William Massena.  It has the legendary 13-20 calibre - significantly upgraded by the owners at that time.  The current watches Montblanc offers with this calibre are labeled 13-21.  In lieu original papers, I have a letter from Montblanc confirming the authenticity and saying it was manufactured in 2002.  This watch is MINT.  It has the original Minerva alligator strap, and 18k gold Minerva buckle - plus a Minerva box from that period purchased separately.  It's an absolutely stunning high-grade manual chronograph with a legendary calibre.  The strap and buckle are in 90% condition.  The outer and inner box are mint, with the exception of a little degrading of the leather inside the box.  This is a rare opportunity - these don't come around ofter, and I am reluctantly parting with it and hope it finds a home with a passionate collector who appreciates it.

PS:  The watch has been serviced about two years ago. And it is pink gold, despite the paperwork from Monblanc identifying it as yellow gold.....I guess the Swiss sometimes make mistakes!
