Hello,

I'm selling an interesting and very eclectic watch from MV, best known for the Quattro Valvoli designs.

Other lines are a bit more practical. The Ace Café, Rally and Chrono series look much better. This is a “limited edition” of 150 and of all the Rally series, I think this one looks best. The stainless steel and silver dial models don’t stand out as much as the “gulf war” motif of this model. It has a groovy black PVD SS case, sand dial, red second hand, raised markers (the whole dial is very 3D) and a very cool desert camo strap. I have a spare, unused strap (£50) for when the current one wears out. Needless to say it looks the business on the battlefield, or when playing Modern Warfare 2 (preferably the latter - I’m an armchair soldier).

A solid, reliable and easily serviceable Valjoux 7750 variant lies at the heart of the watch. Most of you will be familiar with this engine, so I don’t need to cover it in great detail here. AFAIK they don’t tart it up any further to pretend it’s a proprietary design like IWC or Breitling. It powers most sub £5k mechanical chronographs from smaller brands without factories and has a power reserve of 46 hours. The stem action is solid, winding very efficient and the watch keeps excellent time and is mechanically sound.

This watch will polarise opinions of tastes, but if like me you’re tired of seeing a millions Rolexes and Omegas (ummm, I also have a Plant Ocean) every bloody day, this will make a refreshing change.

I have the original box, papers (Oct09) and receipt from the authorised dealer, Charles Fish, in London’s Canary Wharf. It’s still under the two year warranty, so you have some protection against mechanical failure should any mishap befall it. RRP is £1,940.

Please check my other auction for a Chopard LUC Sport 2000 chronometer.

As for payment, I would prefer the buyer to inspect the watch personally before handing over the cash, rather than paypal/courier system. As a rule you should never, ever buy a watch sight unseen from eBay. It’s fraught with dangers and you’re asking to get ripped off. I have sold a couple of expensive watches (a YG Blancpain and an IWC GST) and have dealt with buyers face to face in both instances. I can meet buyers anywhere in London, Eastbourne or Hastings, where I tend to spend most of my time.
