Description

The new Da Vinci chronos, released by IWC this year, are scarce as the proverbial hen’s teeth.  I only know of a few that have reached the US, and most dealers haven’t even received one yet.  When I was in Zurich, only one shop had one, and even the IWC Boutiques in Zurich and in Schaffhausen (next door to the IWC factory) had none!

I’ll probably think I’ve lost my mind when this one leaves the house.  But if I’m going to fund a Da Vinci Perpetual plus an expensive Rolex, some tough decisions need to be made.

The massive SS case is approx 43mm x 51mm yet with a slightly curved back is extremely comfortable on the wrist.   The case holds a horologically significant in-house flyback chrono caliber 89360 which locates both hour and minute counters on same subdial, where they are read the same as the main hands on the watch!   The thick, hefty strap is anchored with the renowned IWC deployant.

The watch is in Near Mint condition with all boxes and papers, plus warranty stamped by US Authorized Dealer.

This almost impossible to find watch is offered here at List Price delivered in US at $12,500 by Wire Transfer.

Sorry, due to value I’d rather not ship outside the US unless I know you.

In your opinion what are today's exclusive complications that are within reach?
30+ years ago, a fairly common consensus was the Rattrapante (until simplification via IWC's 3711), or the tourbillon that's now available via suppliers for many middle-tier brands, or the perpetual calendar (again, simplified by IWC's da vinci) that can now be found on the secondary market for less

She has arrived today!!
And thank God she is in excellent condition. The Watch is NOS (new, never worn). However, it has been stored for 15 years. The box is in bad condition, but all papers exist. Usually I don't do that (to buy on suspicion). I saw this watch many years ago and otherwise only know pictures from the Inter

An old love: IWC Portuguese 7 Days Perpetual Calendar platinum, LE of 250 pieces, year 2003.
When it was issued, this Portuguese 7 Days Perpetual Calendar took my heart. Love at first sight. Ok, the case is big ( 44, 2 mm ) and thick( 15, 5 mm ), but the dial is so clean, elegant and cool. And at that time, having 2 moon phase, one for each hemisphere, wasn't that that common. Credit pictur
