Description
The case of this Heuer Carrera is in excellent condition, with classic elongated straight-lugs that are sharply beveled. The watch case is thick and does not suffer from over polishing. This can be seen through the strong visibility of the bevels in the lugs. The "Swiss" only dial is exceptionally well-preserved, with no signs of previous exposure to the elements. The black subdials show definite, early transition to tropical brown. Likewise, the original dial is free from imperfections. The original tritium lume on the hands and dial correspond, with minor deterioration on the minute hand.
Where this Carrera 2447SND differs from typical examples is its exceptional condition. Whilst this example’s vintage character is evident, its well-preserved condition offers a unique horological insight, owing to the exceptional thickness of the case, consistent ageing/completeness of the lumes and original Gay Frères bracelet.
