United StatesPurchased a few, so need to sell a few – even keepers.
For sale here an extremely rare and sought-after timepiece – Eberhard Contograph from the mid 1960's with black dial and white registers. The Contograf, in my opinion, is one of Eberhard’s iconic timepieces, and also just happens to be one of the coolest chronographs I’ve ever owned. The black dial is far less common than either the silver dial or longer-cased variants, neither of which carry the same appeal in my opinion.
What sets this watch apart from most other high-end tool chronographs from this time period is the fact that the movement is Eberhard’s own manufacture movement – caliber 310-86. Truly one of the finer chronograph movements ever produced, and as rare as can be.
The case is 39 mm across. Bezel insert, bezel, signed crown, case, case back, movement, etc. etc. are all 100% original to the watch. The watch is in great shape as you can see from the scans. The dial, as you would expect, shows a bit of age both near the chronograph registers and within the chronograph registers (which can be seen in the scans). The date is of the quick-set variety, and alternates between black and red numbers (as it should on a correct example).
Eberhard is an extremely under-rated brand, especially when it comes to vintage timepieces. I searched for this watch for at least 2 years, and it pains me to let it go. But, can only possess so many at any given time.
Will sell for $1,800, which is quite a bit less than I’ve ever seen this version go for. Looking for a quick and easy sale.
Please e-mail me at [Email address suppressed for privacy] with any questions. Plenty of references if necessary.
Thanks.
Darren
