Description

After long sleepless nights, I have decided to sell one of the most beautiful watches I have had the opportunity to own - De Bethune DB25.

Technical information about the watch (from De Bethune website):
  • Functions: HOURS, MINUTES, POWER RESERVE INDICATOR AT 12 O’CLOCK
  • Hands: IN HAND-POLISHED AND FLAME-BLUED STEEL
  • Dial: SILVER TONED AND HAND-GUILLOCHÉ WITH 12 RADIATING SECTORS. LINEAR POWER RESERVE INDICATOR AT 12 O’CLOCK
  • Case: 18k WHITE GOLD. DIAMETER: 44MM. THICKNESS 12.5MM, HOLLOWED LUGS, SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL WITH DOUBLE ANTI-REFLECTIVE COATING (1800 VICKERS), OPEN CASE BACK
  • Movement: Caliber DB2024
  •                    SELF-WINDING MOVEMENT DIAMETER 30 MM – 289 PARTS – HAND-CRAFTED FINISHING AND DECORATION – BRIDGES AND PARTS IN GRADE 5 BLUED TITANIUM.
  •                    SELF-REGULATING TWIN BARREL – DE BETHUNE INNOVATION (2004)
  •                    TITANIUM/PLATINUM BALANCE – DE BETHUNE PATENT (2007)
  •                    BALANCE-SPRING WITH FLAT TERMINAL CURVE – DE BETHUNE (2006)
  •                    TRIPLE PARE-CHUTE SHOCK-ABSORBING SYSTEM – DE BETHUNE INNOVATION (2005)
  •                    TITANIUM/PLATINUM OSCILLATING WEIGHT.
  •                    SILICON ESCAPE-WHEEL.
  •                    JEWELLING: 49 JEWELS
  •                    FREQUENCY: 28,800 VIBRATIONS/HOUR.
  •                    POWER RESERVE: 6 DAYS
  • Number of pieces ever produced: 30
The watch is from the best era of De Bethune, where quality was at an astounding level, and the watches were made and assembled by Denis Flageollet himself. The watch was manufactured in 2007 and sold in 2009. The watch is 44mm, but due to its short lugs and small height, it fits even on very small wrists.

Technically it is in great condition, with amplitude around 300, I would say - mint. The watch has never been polished. Along with the watch you receive a full set of documents and boxes, along with a very rare light blue inner box.

I will consider trading the watch for an ALS Odysseus 363.179.

Preferring a face-to-face meeting, the watch is located in Switzerland.

Edit. The price drops to 52000 CHF, I am open to offers.
Edit 2. Market correction of the price - 39900 CHF

Are independents losing their uniqueness?
Recent watch releases lack focus on engineering and complications, resulting in similar designs. Max Busser pointed out a lack of unique aesthetic code. Original indie brands like De Bethune, MB&F, Urwerk are distinct. Internet homogenization may be a factor. MB&F leads in complications.
