Description

18k yellow gold Cartier Tortue one button chronograph with box, papers, and cleaning kit (extra Cartier wooden box containing pouch, loupe. and polishing cloth). This is the more desirable original sized Tortue. It's more true to the 1920's original than the later XL model. The manual wind movement was designed by THA, a company formed by Vianney Halter and FP Journe. FP Journe was the actual designer. This is indeed a great piece for the sophisticated collector whether you enjoy FP Journe or Cartier or great watches in general. The overall condition is very good. Feel free to email us for additional photos or if you have any questions. We are located in the US and will ship world wide. Payment via bank wire transfer only. Shipping to be determined by your location.

Here's an interesting story regarding Cartier, JLC et al and the genesis of the Reverso. It's probably well known to most people here but it's news to me and maybe some other WPS-ers.
Sotheby's upcoming auction in Hong Kong includes a Reverso watch with a unique design patented in 1931. Spécialités Horlogères, formed by César de Trey and Jacques-David LeCoultre, marketed the Reverso which aimed to protect the watch glass and cater to sports enthusiasts.

The titanium Santos really surprised me👍🏻
