Somewhat reluctantly, I've decided to part with my Breguet La Tradition in YG.
Breguet's La Tradition is a recreation in wristwatch form of a "souscription" pocket watch design by Abraham-Louis Breguet from the early 1800s. It won the Timezone Watch of the Year award 2005. The gold alloy is actually half-way between "yellow" and "rose", again in imitation of the original. The "La Tradition" is a genuine classic, modern yet timeless, innovative yet traditional, a beauty on the wrist or under the loupe.
It features a unique in-house frosted gold movement with Breguet overcoil, a "pare-chute" shock absorption system for the escapement, and a power reserve which is visible from both front and back.
Since 2005, Breguet have released many iterations of this watch in different case and dial metals, an automatic version, and even a tourbillon with chain and fusée. However, many watch lovers believe this original version is still the best. It's certainly the "purest" in terms of homage to the original.
The watch comes complete with box and papers. No scratches or dings, just the inevitable swirlies on the case, which could easily be polished out.

Main Dial is displayed with a beautifully hand engraved silver Guilloche (engine-turned) dial located at the 12 o'clock position. The rest of the watch has an open dial displaying the inner movement of the watch & displaying some the immediately recognizable Breguet innovations such as the "pare-chute" - this feature protects the balance pivot from cracking during shock (such as a drop or a minor knock). Since the balance pivot is easily breakable, The pare-chute allows for a smaller & differently shaped pivot which is mounted on a spring plate which allows room for play - thus protecting this crucial pivot from breaking. The watch also features a Power Reserve Indicator on both the front & back of the watch.
